Press Release: Introducing the Wndsn Flagship Distance Nomograph

2017-04-25, BERLIN - All the Calculations, Trigonometry, and Maths you Need – Hidden in a Piece of String. Introducing our flagship product, the Wndsn XPD Distance Nomograph, reviving ancient technologies and uniting them for the first time in one low tech, high value instrument.

Inspired by both the medieval Kamal, a celestial navigation tool that greatly facilitated latitude sailing, as well as nomography, an almost lost art and science invented in the late 19th century to provide engineers with fast graphical calculations of complicated formulas, the Wndsn XPD Distance Nomograph combines both techniques in an easy to use and handy distance measuring device.

What this means is that you can copy dimensions from the real world onto a small ruler in your hand and read the matching distances directly from the engraved scale.

The credit-card sized brass distance nomograph is handmade and manufactured in the spirit of astronomical instruments of the age of discovery, built by the likes of Tycho Brahe, Johannes Kepler, Galileo Galilei, and Gemma Frisius. The scales are precision-cut into 2mm thick rigid metal. The Wndsn maker's mark proudly adorns the device; scientific instructions are engraved and supplemented by a printed how-to. Made in Germany.

Accompanying the release of the archival quality raw brass edition is an affordable, fully functional printed plastic version.
